When Season 5 aired, many fans were curious as to why the character Alex Mahone (William Fitchtner), who became a series regular in Season 2, was not in the series reboot. Paul confirmed that they just couldn't find a place for his character in the new story. However, Paul did hint that we might see him again in the series since the show was renewed for a season 6.
