According to Will Friedle, there were plans as early as 2006-07 of a Boy Meets World spinoff, but Danielle Fishel's real-life arrest for drunk driving put plans on hold and Friedle was to be a main character. Plans were scrapped until a few years later with the spinoff Girl Meets World and Friedle had already lost interest but agreed to make a cameo.
