The third movie in the Rush Hour film franchise in which the storyline centers around Lee. In Rush Hour - Due mine vaganti (1998), Lee's friend Consul Han's daughter Soo Yung is kidnapped by the crime lord Juntao. In Colpo grosso al drago rosso - Rush Hour 2 (2001), Ricky Tan, the former cop who was responsible for the death of Lee's father is responsible for the bombing at the American Embassy, and is masterminding a counterfeiting plot with Los Angeles crime boss Steven Reign. In this movie, Lee discovers his long-lost brother Kenji is the assassin who made an attempt on the life of Han (now an Ambassador) at the World Criminal Court discussions.
