While the original season ran from midnight to midnight, future seasons all had the crucial season-opening and closing episodes occur in the daytime. This was due to practical concerns, as creating the appearance of sunshine in post-production is feasible but creating the appearance of darkness less so - meaning any outdoor scenes that took place late at night had to truly be shot at that time of day. Night shoots were more expensive than day shoots, so the show sought to limit them.
