Doctor Who: The Savages: Episode 1 (1966) which The Doctor, Steven and Dodo discover The Elders are draining the life force of the savages is a similar plot to the Sime~Gen novels by Jaqueline Litchenberg. The novels took place in the future which the human race has mutated into two separated races: The Gens and the Simes which the Simes feed on the Gen's life energy called selyn.
