The production spent $2 million to lease a freighter large enough to ship the 80 plus vehicles used in the movie from where they were made in Australia to the desert in Namibia where the outdoor action sequences were shot. For safety reasons and to prevent damage to them all the vehicles had to be stored in shipping containers, but some vehicles, like the massive War Rig, were so large the shipping company did not have big enough containers so special ones had to be built.
