There was an unmade episode in which a criminal mastermind called The Architect (who would have predated the proper Batman villain known as Architect by about 15 years) being locked in the 'Hard Timers' wing of Stonegate Prison, only to escape when the walls are blown up by his henchmen. Architect escapes into the icy waters of Gotham Harbor and never resurfaces. Batman would go underwater to discover the Architect has a secret submarine base near Gotham.
