In one scene, Prince Edward rides a bus through Times Square. In the background a large poster can be seen advertising the musical play "Wicked", which originally featured Idina Menzel, who played Nancy in this movie, in the starring role. Furthermore, Stephen Schwartz, who was the lyricist for this movie, was the composer and lyricist for Wicked (2009). The poster of Superman Returns (2006) can also be seen, in which James Marsden appeared. A poster can also be seen for the Broadway production of Hairspray which both James Marsden and Kevin Lima worked on the theatrical release.
