Ludi Lin played the Mortal Kombat 2 video game in his childhood and watched Robin Shou as Liu Kang in Mortal Kombat (1995) who became one of his heroes. Lin even skipped school to watch the film's sequel Mortal Kombat - Distruzione totale (1997).
