Alan Shore suffers from Coulrophobia, which is a fear of clowns. He believes he suffers from this due to a childhood bed frame that was shaped as a clown that scared him so much as a child that he was unable to get out of bed on a night to go to the bathroom, therefore forcing him to wet himself on a night time.
