During the Atlanta ballroom scene, when Doctor Meade announces that if a gentleman would like to dance with a lady, he'd have to bid for her, there is a group of ladies who scream. If you fast forward to the scene when Scarlett enters upon the madness of the Main Street in Atlanta, there is the sound of a group of ladies screaming in fear. It's the same group scream heard in the ballroom. Repurposing sounds from other scenes was a common practice in movie making.
