In the second series, the company named Stratemeyer Global is mentioned a several times as one of the antagonists. Stratemeyer Global is in reference to Edward Stratemeyer, the American writer who created the original Hardy Boys book serials for his publishing syndicate in 1927. Mr Stratemeyer went on to create several successful juvenile books: Nancy Drew Mysteries, The Rover Boys, The Bobbsey Twins, Tom Swift, and like.
