Jay Jackson, who plays the first newscaster to be shown reporting the Sheriff's bus crash at the beginning of the movie (with the Channel 29 microphone), has played a newscaster or reporter in a majority of his roles on TV and the movies, including a recurring role as Purd Hapley on Parks and Recreation (2009). Jay Jackson was a reporter for KCAL in Los Angeles for 25 years.
