In the opening scene, the movie within a movie "Stab" is playing at the Rialto Theater. This may be a reference to A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master (1988). In that film there is a scene when Alice (Lisa Wilcox) is asleep she enters the theater. Both scenes were shot at the Rialto in Pasadena, California.
