In the narration behind the happy ending which Deckard and Rachel are seen driving across the countryside after leaving Los Angeles. Deckard decided to leave Los Angeles with Rachel and to take her somewhere safe where they will be together and so the other Blade Runners cannot find them after Deckard disobeyed a direct order from Bryant to retire Rachel and that Gaff didn't retire Rachel thinking she would die soon and not knowing Rachel didn't have a 4 year lifespan. In the sequel, it's revealed after the movie ended, Rachel died giving birth to their daughter Dr. Stelline and Deckard went into hiding in the ruins of Las Vegas.
