Jeff East, who played young teenaged Clark in the middle section of the movie, was not happy when Richard Donner dubbed his voice with Christopher Reeve in the movie: "(I was) Not happy about it because the producers never told me what they had in mind! It was done without my permission and it turned out to be okay. Chris did a good job but it caused tension between us!" He said there was tension between him and Reeve for years after that until later when they worked at a charity function together: " We resolved our issues with each other years later and I was with Chris in Niagara Falls 2001 to raise money for the Christopher Reeve Foundation! It was a very important resolve for us both!"
