Ten years later, Jamie Foxx would play another character named Max in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014) where he would play the primary antagonist. Similar to Collateral, he also has a mother who is sick in that film (however most of her scenes with him were deleted). In Collateral, Max's mother says to Vincent that he talks to himself in the mirror sometimes, which is also a characteristic of Max from Amazing Spider-Man 2 where he is shown to be mentally fragile. Also, both Collateral and Spider-Man 2, sequel to Spider-Man (2002), came out the same year, 2004.
