Laura Dern , Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum sent a picture to Steven Spielberg the day the three of them were back together for the first time. "We all were teary, it was very sweet and so fun," Dern recalled. She also revealed that Sam and her were inseparable pretty much for the whole film, "that's such a beautiful love story through the arc of this six-film journey. Working with Jeff and the three of us and our dynamic, it all came back together, so much fun and bliss to do it.".
