Writer Steven S. DeKnight planned to develop a Justice League spin-off with Brainiac as the antagonist, though a different incarnation than the one played by James Marsters. The team would operate in Metropolis, wherein Oliver Queen/Green Arrow would gather other superheroes "in a Professor X kind of way". Smallville: Justice (2007) is one of the highest rated episodes of the series.
