The writer of the novel which this movie is based on, does a cameo at 17min in the movie. Auguste Le Breton was a very famous novelist known for his novel on the gangsters. He spend some time in juvenile camp, really hard places at the time. Linked to the milieu (ganster world), he fights during ww2 and was rewarded with the croix de guerre (War Cross, french medal for fighting bravery).
