This series had numerous actors who also stared or appeared in the Star Trek franchise. These include Brent Spiner (Data from Star Trek the Next Generation), who played a character named Bob Wheeler in several episodes. John Larroquette, who plays Dan Fielding, was a Klingon named Malts in Star Trek III - Alla ricerca di Spock (1984). Nana Visitor, who played Major Kira Nerys on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993), played a mentally disturbed character named Valerie Sanders in one episode. Karen Austin appeared in a season six episode of Star Trek Voyager, and had an appearance on Star Trek Deep Space 9.
