"War is Hell until it turns into a party," said Romero when asked what he was aiming at with the mob of soldiers and citizens hunting zombies for sport. The director mentions this sequence in Dawn is carried over from the end of Night of the Living Dead. "Don't you think this would be going on in this phenomenon was really happening?" he asks.
