In the comics, Jessica Jones went to High School with Peter Parker, AKA Spider-Man, and her father worked for Tony Stark, AKA Iron Man. Jones even masturbates to a photo of Johnny Storm, AKA The Human Torch. Jones and Luke Cage are married with a daughter named Danielle, after Danny Rand/Iron Fist, a character from a different Marvel/Netflix series. The character Kilgrave is known as "Purple Man," as he possesses purple skin, a result of a chemical accident that granted him his mind-control powers. Though this feature and his origin are altered in the show, his character is still represented by the color purple with it appearing in his choice of clothes.
