In season 2, when the protagonists are in the city of Cittàgazze, several writings in italian can be seen on the walls of the abandoned town indicating places (e.g. Asilo, Dentista). The reasoning behind this is unknown, though it has been suggested it is due to the fact that it's a language most of the Anglophone audience will find familiar but not be acquainted with well enough to understand and break immersion, thus still appearing as a fictional place in another dimension.
