Emma Peel was the only regular character to be given a proper farewell episode. The final scene with John Steed (Patrick Macnee) and Emma Peel (Diana Rigg) still retains some of its dramatic impact. With Rigg having left, most of the fans consider the best of the series to have reached a conclusion by 1967.
