This plot is loosely based on the ancient Greek play "Lysistrata" written by Aristophanes and first performed in 411 BC. In the play, Lysistrata persuades the women of Greece to withhold sexual privileges from their husbands until they negotiate a peaceful end to the Peloponnesian War.The play has also had its story updated for movies Lo sciopero delle mogli (1955), Salvar Davasi (1983) and Spike Lee's Chi-Raq (2015).
