Kanto is the only main in-game region that Ash has traveled through more than once in the anime: the first time being at the start of Ash's journey (in the original series), and the second after Ash returned from Hoenn (in the Advanced Generation series). Additionally, the Sun & Moon series marked the first time Ash returned to Kanto in the middle of a regional journey
