In a post-release interview, Ezra Miller revealed that when David Heyman first told them that they would be playing 'Dumbledore's brother' during the press tour for Animali fantastici e dove trovarli (2016), they initially believed that they would be playing Aberforth Dumbledore, which then led to them questioning how that could be possible because their portrayal of Creedence Barebone didn't match up with Aberforth's character description from both the books and previous films. When Miller met up with J.K. Rowling a few weeks later and asked her about it, Rowling promptly revealed Creedence's 'actual' identity as Aurelius Dumbledore to them.
