The series is very similar in style to The Invaders. An alien species comes to earth to seek a new home from their dying planet. They use espionage and scientific experiments to further their goals. They infiltrate all political and military organisations. They transform themselves from their original form to human form. When an alien dies their body is incinerated leaving a faint image behind. The main protagonist travels the country seeking allies and attempting to stop them at every turn. While it is not an exact copy of The Invaders it is a very good similar story.
