The original ending had Michelle be jumped by Tex, who managed to survive being burned, while Benny and Leatherface fight, which explains why she does nothing to help Benny. Michelle would throw the weakened Tex into one of the traps, which crushes him like an iron maiden. Afterwards, she would wander off into the desert where she is confronted by the Little Girl, who angrily (and childishly) scolds Michelle for killing the family and declaring "I don't like you!". A police car comes by, only to be revealed that Alfredo is driving with Leatherface and Grandpa as passengers, they invite the Little Girl inside and after a brief stare down, they depart, leaving Michelle stranded in the desert. After some rewrites, it was changed to simply be Michelle seeing the little girl riding in the back of the police car, laughing at her as they drive away, and Michelle, driven mad by the hellish experience, laughs too.
