The building seen at the start of the film where Charles Dance and Rod Mullinar meet is Simonds Hall in South Yarra, Melbourne in Victoria, Australia. This mansion portrayed the Roget Clinic in the original 'Patrick' (1978) picture. In this remake, the premises is a setting called the ''Franklin Institute'', and was named after 'Patrick' (1978) director Richard Franklin.
