The scenes set at Linnet Ridgeway's domicile were shot at Compton Wynyates, a Warwickhire country estate which had been featured in Una ragazza, un maggiordomo e una lady (1977) as the country estate of the title: coincidentally the role of the butler in ''Candleshoe'' had been David Niven's last film role prior to playing Colonel Race in ''Death on the Nile''.
