Johnny 5 would return once more in the short educational film Auto Theft: Hot Cars, Cold Facts (1991). The short education films takes place after Johnny 5 becomes America's first robot citizen and a celebrity at the end of the 2nd movie and Johnny 5 teams up with Officer Lisa to go after the car thief ring that stole Johnny 5's car. Tim Blaney didn't return to provide Johnny 5's voice and was replaced by Russell Turner. Fisher Stevens, Michael McKean and Cynthia Gibbs did not return.
