Billy Eichner, who voiced the New York Reporter in the scene where Dave sends the Mutated Penguins into New York would later go on to Voice Timon the Meerkat in Il re Leone (2019) 5 years later. In the Main Madagascar Films, Alex is voiced by Ben Stiller, whose father Jerry Stiller previously voiced Max, the uncle of Timon from the Original Il Re Leone (1994) in it's Straight-to-Video/DVD Midquel Il re leone 3 - Hakuna Matata (2004) 10 years prior to this film.
