When Hobbs and the Shaws are reconnoitering before heading to Moscow, Hobbs is referencing all of the cars pertaining to Deckard Shaw overcompensating. When he gets to a Mini Cooper he says, "This is more like it." Shaw then claims he used it in a job in Italy. Jason Statham was a main character in The Italian Job (2003), re-make of 1969's Un colpo all'italiana (1969) in which the heist featured Mini Coopers driving through a mansion.
