There was a documentary made called "On Location With Fame" along with a "making of" paperback book called "The Book Of Fame" but both the book and behind-the-scenes documentary are very hard to find. There was also a large billboard mounted on top of the water tower of MGM Studios in Culver City, California in the months before the film was to be released in the summer of 1980, with the words "FAME" in large black capital block letters against a bright yellow background, a graphic design that was never used by the time the official poster for the film was released, with the familiar red-and-black "Fame" logo.
