All eight episodes of season 1 (of "Ashes to Ashes") feature various angles of explosion shots of a specific car bomb, which is part of one of Alex's story arcs culminating in the 8th episode of season 1. Understandably, some viewers found it, and still may find this disturbing. In fact, during its first-run on BBC One Northern Ireland, the series carried a "disturbing images" warning, across most episodes. Accordingly, for this unavoidable part of the series 1 story arc, some broadcasters may pause the series, where a similar real world event has happened close to transmission.
