A subplot involving Carl keeping one of Kevin's eggs (which could reverse the aging process) from Charles Muntz was conceived in the early stages of production. Muntz would have already used a few of these eggs, explaining why he looks almost younger than Carl despite being several decades older. It would have also been emphasized that Muntz' obsession with Kevin comes mainly from wanting to obtain another egg. None of this was ever scripted, due to it being (in director Pete Docter's words) "too bizarre".
