In the opening, can be seen Apollo XI's moon landing site, as well as a voice reads a plaque left on the site. This plaque is for real measuring 9 by 7+5/8 inches (22.9 by 19.4 cm), put by Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin on the surface to commemorate the landing. It features two planet Earth globes with all the continents, and an inscription below the globes. This inscription says: "Here men from the planet Earth first set foot upon the Moon. July 1969 A. D. We came in peace for all Mankind". Below it they appear Armstrong, Aldrin and Michael Collins' handmade sign beside their names, and at the bottom of the plaque President Richard Nixon's handmade sign and name, beside "President, United States of America".
