Among the many problems that confounded the "rabbit wranglers" on this film were the fact that rabbits are herbivores and are naturally docile creatures, for whom aggressive behavior is not normal. In fact, their two favorite pastimes are nibbling on vegetables (although they will bite humans if annoyed) and mating with other rabbits, both of which were difficult to make seem terrifying. Due to their mating proclivities, the two dozen bunnies bought at the beginning of filming, ballooned to nearly a hundred by the time the "stampede" sequences were being filmed.
