It appears to be a flaw in the design of the game that each of the pieces may have a different number of squares to traverse to achieve victory: Upper Left (Rhino, Sarah's piece) has 35 (including the final circle or lens), crossing Lower Left's path at 18 and 22, and Upper Right's path at 26 and 33; Upper Right (Elephant, Alan's piece) has 33, crossing Upper Left's path at 18 and 22, and Lower Right's path at 25 and 32; Lower Right (Crocodile, Judy's piece) has 35, crossing Upper Right's path at 18 and 22, and Lower Left's at 26 and 33; Lower Left (Ape or Monkey, Peter's piece) has 32, crossing Lower Right's path at 17 and 21, and Upper Left's path at 24 and 31.
