William Castle the producer said that working with Roman Polanski was a painful experience because the latter was a perfectionist, who took several nights to shoot a simple scene that could have been taken in only in a couple of hours. Polanski also shot scenes at lunch time, in rush hours, just in the middle of Fifth Avenue in NY City. But Castle also admitted that Polanski was a brilliant film maker.
