Alan Silvestri composed the score for both Forrest Gump (1994) and the Back to the Future trilogy. The Forrest Gump theme is a variation of the melody playing in the beginning of Ritorno al futuro - Parte III (1990), when Marty and Doc are sleeping in Doc's living room.
