Two nods to Nintendo: Freddy's line "now I'm playing with power!" is a variation on Nintendo's "Now You're Playing With Power!" ad campaign (which was primarily out of use by 1991, as the NES was fading out of popularity). Also, Freddy's glove controller ("you forgot the Power Glove!") is a heavily modified version of Nintendo's controller of the same name, which was new at the time.
