According to the associated documentary The Malaysian Prison (2016), Buddhist prayers and praying readings were conducted at the real life abandoned Chanthabur Prison in Thailand, which was portraying the Penjara Kaedah high-security prison in Malaysia, due to claims by the crew that the empty penitentiary was haunted by ghosts.
