Since Matthew McConaughey, Alex Pettyfer, and Cody Horn didn't star in this sequel, their characters' absences had to be explained. McConaughey's Dallas and Pettyfer's Adam are mentioned to have started a new show overseas in Macau, China and Mike reveals that his girlfriend Brooke (played by Cody Horn in the first film), who is Adam's sister, has broken up with him after she rejected his marriage proposal.
