[1:28]G. Gordon Liddy was offered the part of Clarence Beeks, but turned it down after discovering Beeks' fate. Beeks is reading Liddy's book, "Will", on the train. Maurice Copeland, who plays the Secretary of Agriculture also played Attorney General John Mitchell in Will: The Autobiography of G. Gordon Liddy (1982). Liddy was a notorious individual who undertook illegal activities on behalf of President [ink=nm0633271], including the Watergate burglary of the offices of the Democratic National Headquarters. He gained notoriety for holding his hand over a burning match until the skin sizzled - an act that since has been written into the roles of various bad guys in film and TV to show how tough they are.
