During the Last Supper scene, Jesus (Victor Garber) says a Hebrew prayer over wine before distributing it. This prayer is the Kiddush, and it is commonly recited by Jews over wine during Shabbat (sabbath) services and in many other holiday contexts. The words are: "Baruch atah, Ad-nai Eloheinu, Melech haolam, borei p'ri hagafen." ("Blessed are You, Ad-nai our G-d, Sovereign of the universe, Creator of the fruit of the vine."). There is a significantly longer version of the Kiddush that is usually recited in homes and synagogues, but this movie contains an abbreviated version that is sometimes substituted.
