In the film, after Grace Kelly kisses James Stewart, while he talks about what happened across the courtyard, and then asks her, "What do you think?" Kelly, (a non smoker) replies, "Something too frightful to utter", then lights a cigarette, holds it, then puts it out a moment later, without ever smoking it. So actually, Grace did refuse to smoke in all her movies.
