In the original script, the penthouse sacrificial scene of the Colombian drug lord Ramon Vega was very different. The script shows that the Jamaicans attack Vega's place while Vega is merely sitting alone in his apartment and relaxing, not naked with his mistress, and before they can kill him in a ritualistic ceremony, the Predator strikes and wipes out the Voodoo Posse. Ramon Vega witnesses all this happen as the Predator spares him since he's unarmed, and is thus later used by Keyes to gain information on the Predator. In the final shooting script, they switch it so that Vega is killed while his girlfriend is spared. Studio executives wanted the original script's less violent scene, fearing the NC-17 rating, but the film-makers pressed for the the final shooting script version to be used, which had to be heavily edited before it could be released in cinema's.
